Angelie Ignacio
Biography
Angelie is a PhD student in the Developmental Psychology and Education program at OISE. Her research encompasses writing assessment in young children, the impact of feedback on cognitive and metacognitive development, the integration of AI in teaching and assessment, as well as mixed-methods research. She has played a key role in expanding the reading, writing, oral, and cognitive tasks for the BalanceAI platform, utilising large language models (LLMs) like ChatGPT to improve test item creation and evaluation. Her current work investigates how LLMs can be used to automate the scoring of student-generated questions and planning in writing assessments. Recently, she published an article examining the impact of dynamic assessment on students' writing and self-regulated learning during the pandemic. Angelie also works as a teaching assistant at OISE and UTSC. She actively participates in student groups, including the APHD Student Association and the APHD Racialized Group.
